Abstract

The wavelength and power monitoring of dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM) was studied by using Fabry-Perot filters. The biasing of the Fabry-Perot laser around the threshold region minimized the wavelength drift due to the current fluctuations. The wavelength and power monitoring of eight channels spaced 0.8 nm apart showed an accuracy of ±0.01 nm and 0.2 dB respectively.
