Abstract

This paper presents an extended PEEC formulation for the evaluation of magnetic shielding at low frequency. The shielding is made by linear magnetic plates. In this formulation, circuit equations and constitutive relation were set up using both induced current and surface current of magnetization. With the analytical function for the induced current across the plate thickness, this approach eliminates the volume meshing for magnetization, and plate discretization across thickness for induced current. A testing example was presented for validating the proposed method with the commercial software based on the BEM. It was found that the resultant magnetic fields obtained from these two methods match well. The computation time is significantly less than that required by the BEM when the similar meshing size was adopted in the simulation.
