Visualization of Dynamic Stress and Strain Fields in Plate Vibrations

Research output: Journal article publicationJournal articleAcademic researchpeer-review

Abstract

A computer program for the visualization of dynamic fields of displacement, strain, stress, and moment in plate vibration was developed. The simulated fields are animated to enhance learning of vibrations by university undergraduates. The software could be used for effective computer-aided teaching in classroom or laboratory lessons. It is suitable for undergraduate and graduate courses in structural mechanics and computer-aided engineering.
