Abstract
A strategy for on-line reset of the variable-air-volume (VAV) static pressure setpoint is developed. Dynamic simulation models of the VAV system are developed to test and evaluate the control strategy. The pressure flow characteristics of the VAV systems in an office building were monitored to evaluate the strategy in a real building. The energy saving potential, the on-line control and energy performance of the simulated vav strategy are evaluated in terms of the characteristics monitored in the building.
