Abstract

Substation automation system embeds abundant valuable data of power system. Tapping useful information for optimal decision from these data is favourable under deregulation since little investment is involved. In this paper, two applications are introduced to use the information for optimized power system operation. Disturbance data are used for electric power load modeling, and normal operation process of circuit breaker are used to estimate the status of circuit breaker. This information is used to facilitate predictive maintenance of circuit breaker.
