Abstract
This paper explores how the subject "Urbanism and Design" provides everyday-life related learning experience for design students. Besides studying urban and cultural theories, students are required to find out "truths" by conducting applied ur ban researches. Through theoretical and practical activities, students from different design disciplines are motivated to apply their learning experience in improving people's quality of life in terms of living environment. Students, in their design pract ice, are also encouraged not to put focus on the producer and the product, but the user.
