Abstract

It is suggested that the unnotched impact test is suitable for quantitative quality control of unplasticized poly(vinyl chloride) pipe. The relative level of processing is assessed by the probability that failure is nucleated at a surface flaw. Tests show that this assessment is very sensitive to the level of processing.
