Abstract
Spray pyrolysis was used to prepare thin films of M2B5O9Cl:Eu on glass substrates. Blue cathodoluminescence due to the abnormal reduction of the Eu ion was obtained by annealing films in air. By changing the composition of alkaline cation, it was possible to tune the dominant emitting wavelength between 435 to 465 nm.
