Abstract
A fiber-optic microwave filter, based on wavelength conversion was proposed. A continuous broad-band tuning capability was obtained by using a section of high-dispersion filter to provide wavelength selective time delays. The filter used cross-gain modulation of amplified spontaneous emission spectrum of a semiconductor optical amplifier. The extinction ratio of the wavelength converted signal was as the power difference between the upper and the lower trace.
