Abstract
It is possible to use recursive formulations for the realization of the discrete cosine and sine transform with an appropriate hardware structure. Some research work has been reported on effective ways to realize the DCT and the DST in a recursive filter form. In this paper, we introduce a new realization scheme using the recursive property of the transform domain to compute the DCT and the DST sequentially. The output efficiency is improved and the total processing time is reduced.
