Abstract
The paper is to present the analysis for different drive circuit topologies of switched reluctance motor drives for use in electric vehicles. Switched-reluctance machine is famous for its fault tolerance and good dynamic response. A number of circuits will be analyzed, which include the classical circuit, Oulton circuit, resonant circuit and the circuit developed by the authors. The analysis will be based on their reliability, dynamic response, EMI, and control method.
