Abstract

A computer-aided time-domain simulation of Class-E DC/DC power converters is accomplished by using the finite method. Firstly, the state-space equations of various switching topologies are formulated. By adopting Galerkin's weighted residual approach, the state-space equations are transformed into a recurrence formula and the solution is unconditionally stable. The approach is so simple and general that it can be applied to various power converter circuits and can be implemented in PCs. The simulation of start-up transients and steady-state waveforms is presented.
