Abstract
The reaction of the anion [Os4(μ-H)3(CO)12]-with one equivalent of Au(PPh3)Cl affords [Os4Au(μ-H)3(CO)12(PPh3)] (1), the structure of which was established by single crystal X-ray analysis. Its electrochemical behavior and catalytic properties are also reported. This bimetallic cluster catalyses the oxidative carbonylation of aniline to give methyl phenylcarbamate in methanol with good conversion and selectivity compared to the homometallic [Os4(μ-H)4(CO)12] cluster.
