Abstract

The refined calculation of topological relationships is the new requirement of practice and application, which represents the trend of the research on spatial relationship. To meet the heavy demands in checking the data quality of national spatial database at the scale of 1:50,000, this paper investigates and advances the idea of line-decomposed-assembled to calculate the complicated topological relationships between line objects. The improved plane sweep arithmetic for the calculation of topological relationships between line segments is discussed. The rules for judging the local topological relationships based on that of line segments are set up. The topological chain model to describe the whole topological relationships by local topological relationships is given. The method has been applied to the detection of spatial conflict in the checking of data quality of national spatial database, achieved better effects.
