Abstract
The microprocesses of the amorphous-to-quasicrystaline transformation in Zirconium bulk metallic glass was observed using microscopic techniques. The oxygen content of the as-cast sample was measured to 1200 PPM using a leco-136 analyzer. The structures seems to posseses the structural symmetries as that of icosahedral quasicrystal. The result shows that the dissolution of silver in the tetragonal Zr2Ni plays the critical role in quasicrystal formation.
