Abstract

The local web buckling behavior of coped I-beam was analyzed both experimentally and analytically. Three full-scale tests on the local web buckling strength of coped steel I-beams were carried out, in the experimental program. One of them was designed to investigate the local web buckling strength of coped section without stiffeners and two of them with horizontal stiffeners. It was shown that from the test results that obvious lateral deflections occurred at the coped part even horizontal stiffeners were provided.
