Abstract
The impact of humanlikeness in AI chatbots remains ambiguous. The results of this study indicate that users benefit from the construal level fit between the AI chatbot's humanlikeness and the service context. In order to determine whether the construal level fit between the AI chatbot's humanlikeness and the service context has a positive effect on user behavior, this study carried out two experiments. Furthermore, the study investigated the role of empathy as a psychological mechanism in mediating these interactions. The study's findings, which looked into how people were framed by an AI chatbot's visual humanlikeness, offer a framework for consumer views and behavior.
