N2 - Indoor and outdoor thermal comfort are two main research areas in built environment. In previous research, these two aspects were seldom discussed together because of the natural space separation provided by buildings and walls, but dynamic outdoor thermal features have shown to provide positive impact in creating thermal comfort perceptions. The study aims to discover the change trend in ASHRAE standards and research articles. The bibliography analysis was conducted using CiteSpace by including 1040 research articles. There were few links between indoor and outdoor thermal comfort, except for the adaptation of indoor thermal indices to the outdoor environment. Through the iterations of ASHRAE standards, indoor thermal environments are changing from "thermal neutral, symmetric, and stable" to "thermal comfort, asymmetric, and dynamic". Future studies should focus more on adapting the comfortable thermal features from the outdoors to the indoor environment.
