Abstract

The problem of preserving the robustness properties when using estimated-state feedback instead of full-state feedback in a linear control system will be reviewed. The difficulties in designing state-estimators for plants with uncertain parameters will be discussed. With regard to the robustness and the transient response of the closedloop system, a general approach for designing the stateestimator for a deterministic system will be proposed. Consideration will also be given to non-minimum phase systems. Simulation results will be provided to illustrate the important points of the paper.
