Abstract
The research is based on the historical study of the publications of Wang Yangming's (1472-1529) philosophical and literary works and the court debates over his canonization and induction into the Confucian Temple as a genuine Confucian paragon in the Longqing (1567-1572) and early Wanli (1573-1619) reigns.
