Synthesis of ruthenium(II) 1,2-naphthoquinone-2-oxime complexes containing C16 long alkyl chain

Abstract

C16 long alkyl chains containing complexes trans-,cis-[Ru(2-nqo) 2(CO)(spy)] (4) [(trans-NO, cis-O)], cis-,trans-[Ru(2-nqo) 2(CO)(spy)] (5) {(cis-NO, trans-O)}, cis-, cis-[Ru(2-nqo) 2-(CO) (spy)] (6) {(cis-NO, cis-O)} and trans-, trans-[Ru(2-nqo) 2(spy)2] (7) {(trans-NO, trans-O)} were synthesized by decarbonylated substitution of three isomers of ruthenium (II) carbonyl complexes of 1,2-naphthoquinone-2-oxime (2-nqo) trans-, cis-[Ru(2-nqo) 2(CO)2] (1), cis-, trans-[Ru(2-nqo)2(CO) 2] (2) and cis-, cis-[Ru(2-nqo)2(CO)2] (3). All the complexes were characterized by IR, UV-vis, FAB-MS and 1H- 1H COSY 1H NMR.
