Abstract
Two new air-stable triosmium clusters, [HOs3(CO)10(O2CC5H4FeC5H5)] (1) and [{Os3H(CO)10}2(O2CC5H4FeC5H4CO2)] (2), were obtained from the reaction of the labilized cluster [Os3(CO)10(CH3CN)2] and the corresponding ferrocenecarboxylic acid and were characterized by spectroscopic methods and single-crystal X-ray diffraction studies. The redox properties of both complexes were studied by cyclic voltammetry at ambient temperature; both exhibit a reversible electron transfer process.
