Abstract
The cluster [Os3(CO)10(NCMe)2] reacted with [N(PPh3)2]NO2in CH2Cl2to give a novel red-orange complex [N(PPh3)2][Os3(CO)10(μ-η2-NO2)] in moderate yield, which underwent protonation with HBF4·Et2O in CH2Cl2to give the neutral complex [Os3(μ-H)(CO)10(μ-η2-NO2)] in high yield; X-ray crystal-structure analyses have shown that both clusters contain a μ-η2-bridging nitrite ligand.
