Abstract
This paper is mainly concerned with the development of a web-based system that can be used to generate performance measurement tools. Central to the system is a methodology of process-oriented performance measurement. For all kinds of process, the user defines performance indicators, measuring units, and aggregation algorithms, etc. one after another. Additionally, the system provides a synchronization facility, thus a variety of tool developers can corporate with each other by getting up-to-date information and resolving idea conflicts among individuals. A case study is presented to show how the system works to generate a performance measurement tool for evaluating the disassemblability of a mechanical product design with multiple users. What are the strengths and weaknesses of the system are discussed. A concluding discussion is presented at the end of this paper.
