Abstract
This paper presents an overview of some practical applications of linear programming in both the manufacturing and service industries. In discussing the example applications, we focus on the development of the models and the results they can produce. It is concluded, from the survey, that linear programming is an effective tool to assist managerial decision-making in a great variety of fields, and the application of linear programming is limited only by the ingenuity of the analyst.
