Abstract

In this paper we present briefly the results of two successful triggered lightnings with rocket-wire technique in Beijing area in 1991. They were all triggered when electric fields at ground were positive (positive charge overhead), specifically 3.2kV/m and 2.5kV/m respectively. Analysis shows that triggered lightnings were small discharges initialed by upward going negative streamer followed by continuous current process. No return strokes were recorded. The triggering heights were within 300-400m. Charges they transfered were less than 10C and corona currents along wire during rockets rising were about 4mA. -English summary
