Abstract
A new data filtering method named CVVF method, based on Vondrak filter and the technique of cross-validation, is developed for separating signal and noise in data series, and applied to study of GPS multipath effects. Numerical simulation studies and real experiments indicate that the method is a powerful signal decomposer, which can significantly mitigate the random error of measurement and separate successfully signal and noise. The day-to-day repeating property of GPS multipath signal can be applied to remove efficiently the multipath disturbances in the subsequent day's GPS measurement, and therefore improve the quality of the GPS coordinate results.
