Abstract

The resonant wireless power transfer (RWPT) system is investigated and put into application to electrical devices since it was issued by the MIT. In this paper, the performance of the RWPT system with different conditions of misalignment between transmitter and receiver coil is experimented and investigated by using a pair of coils on rectangular printed circuit boards. A typical wireless power transfer (WPT) system is replaced by the proposed one, which enables the magnetic fluxes generated by the transmitter coil to transmit through a mid-range distance at resonant condition so as to make the power efficiency higher to lead to efficient power transfer. In order to realize the performance of the proposed RWPT system, finite-element method simulations and the corresponding experiments are carried out and reported to illustrate its performance.
