Spurious synchronization in non-diagonally coupled identical Lorenz oscillators

Abstract

It was reported in this Letter that spurious synchronization with positive transverse Lyapunov exponent (LE) can be realized between two non-diagonally coupled identical Lorenz oscillators. The possible reason for this rare phenomenon was revealed. Detection techniques of spurious synchronization region based on the distribution change of local transverse Lyapunov exponent were given.
