Split decision functions in fractal image coding based on 1uadtree

Quadtree partitions are often used in fractal image compression to achieve variable bit rates. This paper proposes a fuzzy integral based split decision function-fuzzy mean error that can improve image coding quality and speed up the encoding process. Moreover, other commonly used split decision functions are analyzed.
