Spectral Compression of Mid-infrared Pulse in a Suspended Silicon Waveguide Taper

Abstract

We demonstrate high-degree spectral compression with pump wavelength of 2400 nm in a 6-cm long suspended silicon waveguide taper. Simulation results show that spectral compression factor and brightness-enhanced factor can be 10.8 and 10.6, respectively.
