Sonochemical preparation of Au, Ag, Pd/SiO2 mesoporous nanocomposites

Abstract

Metal/SiO2 mesoporous nanocomposites were prepared by impregnation of mesoporous solids in the corresponding metal salts followed by sonochemical reduction. The composites were characterized by UV-Vis absorption, HRTEM, and TEM. It was found that the nanopores of mesoporous silica allow for encapsulation of the metal particles and control the particles size. © 2003 Acta Materialia Inc. Published by Elsevier Science Ltd.
