Abstract
Students' perceptions of the enhancement of their learning through use of social media in hospitality education remain largely unexplored. This article aims to investigate this topic and, in particular, to identify the factors affecting these perceptions, using the most popular social media site in mainland China (Tencent QQ - www.qq.com) as an example. The results show that students' attitudes to the enhancement of their learning through social media are positive in terms of networking and relationship building. Differences in students' perception according to gender, year of study, and experience of social media use were examined.
