Abstract

The outbreak of COVID-19 and the preventive measures taken to curb its spread have significantly impacted human activities. With the ongoing iteration of the virus, there is growing concern and uncertainty about the prospects for overseas travel. This research focuses on the changes in behaviour among Generation Z travellers in Hong Kong and aims to investigate the impact of the pandemic on their travel activities. One noticeable trend is the rise in solo tourism. The effectiveness of suggested preventive practices is uncertain in travel destinations, simply owing to inevitable local and traveller interactions. Recognizing the precariousness of this situation, this paper proposes a traveller-oriented, slow tourism service system for the post-pandemic decade using the Fego travel app.
