Six-Mode multiplexer with cascaded vertical asymmetric waveguide directional couplers

Abstract

We design a six-mode (de)multiplexer with five cascaded vertical asymmetric waveguide directional couplers. Our device fabricated with polymer material achieves coupling ratios higher than 67% and modal crosstalks lower than -11.6 dB at 1550 nm.
