Abstract

To combine advantages of switched-mode and switched-capacitor (SC) power converters, a series of nonisolated multi-output pulse width modulation converters are developed in this study. This type of converters employs only one inductor and one active switch, which contributes to a simple structure and easy control features. An optimised SC technique is developed for peak current limitation and equivalent resistance reduction for SC units. Circuitry configuration, operation principle, equivalent model and an optimised design are presented in detail. Experimental results of a three-output (±24 V, 48 V) converter prototype verifies the feasibility of voltage regulation and power efficiency.
