Abstract

The reduced system matrices in the IBSS method of Chap. 5 are frequency-dependent, thus the eigensolutions and eigensensitivities have to be calculated in individual iterations mode by mode. This is computationally demanding when numerous modes are required. This chapter introduces a simultaneous iterative substructuring (SIS) method (Tian et al. 2019) to compute the eigensolutions and eigensensitivities of many modes simultaneously in the same iterations.
