Abstract

The traditional sewing method with thread and needle is not the only way to join individual panels together. Sew-free technologies such as ultrasonic welding, adhesive bonding, and laser engraving and welding have been used to replace sewing in various garment manufacturing processes. The technologies not only improve the seam quality, durability, and appearance of finished garments but also offer flatter seams with a slim and sleek profile, with less abrasion on the wearer's skin. This chapter provides detailed information about sew-free technologies for intimate apparel applications.
