Service oriented platform for physical asset management of supply Hub in Industrial Park (SHIP)

Abstract

Effective and efficient management of physical assets is critical for SHIP in providing the sharing of logistics services in the same industrial park. Managing these physical assets in SHIP has to face many challenges on integrating different information systems, managing diverse assets flexibly, and designing the assets sharing mechanism. This study addresses those challenges by proposing a service-oriented asset management solution. It enables the remote monitoring and management of physical assets, and provides a method to share them between stakeholders. Besides, an integrated platform based on Service Oriented Architecture is developed to support the proposed solution. This platform not only provides whole life cycle management for physical assets in SHIP, but also integrates the different information systems involved in SHIP.
