Abstract

Wireless sensor networks (WSN) are a fundamental part of the networking infrastructure for pervasive computing. WSN can be easily deployed to various environments to monitor target objects and various conditions, and to collect information. In this paper, we survey the various forms of sensors and wireless sensor networks with different applications and discuss the challenging research issues in the context of pervasive computing. We also describe representative projects on WSNs for pervasive computing applications.
