Abstract
A semi-active logic control method of tall buildings with podium structure using an MR damper is proposed. An earthquake-excited 12-story tall building with 3-story podium is used to validate the method presented. The experimental results imply that this kind of logic control method can not only control effectively the responses of tower building and podium structure under earthquake action, but also is simple, and realized easily in engineering.
