Abstract
Arrays of nanosized three dimensional islands are known to self-assemble spontaneously on strained epitaxial thin films. Other structures including anti-dots and quantum molecules have also been observed under appropriate growth or annealing conditions. We discuss recent progress on kinetic Monte Carlo simulations of the self-assembly of these structures.
