Abstract

Taking a pipeline suspension bridge with the bottom of tower hinged as an example, three seismic waves with different spectrum characteristics are input to study the influence of seismic excitation effect on the internal force and displacement of the pipeline suspension bridge at structural critical details by adopting time-history method. The results indicate that there are significant difference in the seismic response of bridge under seismic waves excitation with the same peak acceleration and different spectrum characteristics. Because of the hinged bottom of tower, internal force of main cable changes remarkably, and the bending internal force of pipeline are with great variational amplitude under the seismic load. The seismic capacity should be considered firstly when make seismic fortification in view of its special use.
