Abstract

A method of range image segmentation based on morphological watershed is presented. The edges are extracted by morphological edge detector and the edge map is thresholded, then water shed is introduced to finish the last segmentation. Results show that using edge map as the input to a morphological watershed segmentation algorithm yields rugged and consistent results.
