Abstract

Chiral dipyridyl phosphine ligand P-Phos was found to be effective in the Ru-catalyzed asymmetric hydrogenation of α- and β-keto esters in room temperature ionic liquids (RTILs) with high conversions and good to excellent enantioselectivities.
