Abstract

Blockchain technology is an emerging disruptive technology that is increasingly being used in a variety of fields due to its open, decentralized, transparent, traceable, tamperproof, and forgery-free features. The technology is mainly used in emerging areas such as finance, gaming, and logistics, but it has huge potential for a wider impact in other industries. Especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, with the need for social distancing across the globe, blockchain has considerable application opportunities, especially in digital health areas such as health insurance, pharmaceutical supply chains, telemedicine diagnostics, etc. Therefore, the purpose of this book is to explore the current applications and future possibilities of blockchain technology
in the healthcare area. This book enables readers to understand blockchain research by different researchers in the healthcare field, allowing readers to understand the state of the application, application principles, and development limitations of blockchain technology in health care, and to better apply blockchain technology in the health care domain to deliver benchmark value. The book is valuable not only for researchers, engineers and programmers developing applications in related fields, but also for practitioners interested in adopting the latest critical digital health technologies in the future.
