Abstract

This paper reviews and compares different possible current quality compensating solutions for a high power unidirectional electric vehicle (EV) battery charger with threephase power supply. Their pros, cons and characteristics for the high power EV battery charger are also summarized. Simulation results of different compensating solutions for a 50kW EV charging system are also provided to illustrate and compare their compensating performances and characteristics.
