Abstract

It is important for nurses to critically appraise the changing scene of health care services, to forecast the health care needs of the society and to provide quality nursing care. Nurses have to be reflexive all the time so as to evaluate the current nursing practice, the existing resources and the effectiveness of the various treatment modalities. More importantly, we have to obtain the patients' comment and experience toward our nursing care. Especially, for achieving patient-centered care, we cannot ignore the view of patients because they are the end-users and they should know the effectiveness of the treatment the best. A humanistic and patient visible approach could be achieved by having a sense of reflexivity in nursing knowledge and practice.
