Abstract

This paper aims at demonstrating the real-time intelligent optimization decision support system so that the complex production control and line-balancing problems under a human-centric and dynamic apparel assembly process can be handled. Two consistent steps of balancing done by pre-line balancing system and real time production control system were designed to improve the balancing effectiveness. The human factors and machine uncertainties were considered by applying operator efficiency prediction technique and capturing expert experience. The apparel assembly line with the highest line efficiency, lowest operation efficiency deviation and least operator efficiency waste could be achieved with the three optimal indexes based searching criteria.
