Abstract

The importance of real-time monitoring and evaluation of power supply quality is not over emphasised. Nowadays, almost all modern power system control centres are equipped with computer based data-acquisition systems. A new implementation using programmable gate array for compression and restoration of digitised signals is presented in this paper. The proposed methodology offers various merits such as low effectiveness, high speed, high compression ratio and full accuracy.
